I’m in!

I’m taking the plunge. I’m going to participate in National Novel Writing Month in November. I’ve been wanting to do it for a while, and then a couple of blogs I stalk read are also participating, so I felt it was a little push from the universe (at least the internet universe) to put up or shut up.

Here’s my author info. I’m not sure what genre I’m in yet. My plot kind of feels like thinking woman’s chick lit but as that wasn’t a genre, I’m leaving it for now.

Anyone else in?

I’m a little scared, but in a good way. What’s the worst that can happen? I don’t finish. I guess I can live with that.

Another NaNo-er! This is my first year, and I guess it’s just for the experience but hey! It’s gotta be fun ;)

    Mine’s called… MILKMAN! Go me.

Don’t worry about plot too much. A lot of people have told me that on the first day as creativity strikes, you get the idea and grows. Best of luck!

  2. Thinking woman’s chick lit should be a genre. Pull a Truman Capote and create a new one, I say.

Awesome! Go you! I’m sort of freaking out about it as November gets closer, but it should be fun. :)

Chick lit is a genre, actually! http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/forum/163

I’m so glad we’re all going crazy together! It’ll be a great experience. I know I’ve rallied our NW PA folk to come out to Borders this weekend and get psyched! Y’all come by in spirit!

P.S. Now that I poked around here some more, I see we have other things in common. I have a son with Aspergers and a daughter with autism/language disorders. Nice to know. Hang in.

  6. awalkabout: Yes, I saw there was a chick lit genre, but there wasn’t “thinking woman’s chick lit” which perhaps may be a sub-genre that I’ve just created. Perhaps I would be better suited to the Mainstream Fiction genre.

I think time will tell. In my head, it’s somewhere between those things. Once it’s on paper, who knows, maybe it will be science fiction.

  7. jamboree: I just looked back to a comment you left in June–aren’t you performing in Iolanthe in November? Performing and writing at the same time? Yikes! Mind you, the fairies have some significant backstage time in the first act. Maybe you have a laptop?

    Enquiring minds want to know!
